REVIEW: Marvel's Northstar

Finally! He's out! No, I mean the figure is out after being unreleased again and again.
Here's Aurora's twin, Northstar!

After years of uncertainty, we finally get to have Northstar and this time it's for real. He was supposed to be released as a variant for Aurora back in 2013, but was never released. He then appeared at the back of 2015 Wave 2's card, but again never saw the light of day. People were getting worried on this figure's state, not that they want him, it's just that they need him for their Aurora. I've seen some who just resorted on doing a custom figure, and I almost did one. Good thing I've waited long enough for the official release.

Here's the rest of the assortment:

2x Emma Frost, 2x Chameleon, 2x Colossus, 2x Deadpool, 2x Korg, 2x Northstar

Northstar is known to be part of the Canadian superhero team, the Alpha Flight. He was also regularly affiliated with the X-men from time to time. But he became a headliner in various media outlets when he married his husband, Kyle Jinadu, which was the first same-sex marriage in mainstream comics back in 2012.

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: Set of 6 Php 4,200
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:

You can see at the back of the card, that he was supposed to be part of 2015 Wave 2's lineup along with Colossus.

Sculpt:

+ Face's feature is neatly sculpted.
- Head proportion is a bit big for his body, but the same goes for Aurora though.

Paint:

+ Decent paint application on the face
- White paint used is of different shade on the hand/feet from the ones used on the body,
- Fuzzy edges on the whites of the figure.

        Articulation:
Uses the same mold as Quicksilver, Comic Loki, and those slendered bodied heroes. Was never a fan of this body mold, but it works for him.

          Size Comparison:
MU Aurora | MIS North Star
MU Guardian | MIS North Star | MU Puck

          Overall Grade

This Northstar figure is definitely not for everyone. I only see collectors getting him to fill the void for Aurora owners and those who have an Alpha Flight roster. It's one of those figures that you may or may not pick up, as it won't affect the impact of your collection whether you have him or not.

Figure wise, it's a decent so-so figure. You get a standard MU buck. The paint app is just sloppy as hell. So better be on the look out for those when buying one.
