REVIEW: Deadpool (X-men/Blue)

The chase of this wave! Damn, the hype on this character never seems to fade whichever line he shows up on. Here's the merc with a mouth in his blue and yellow glory.

Last time, I posted my toy haul that I did acquire a MOC Blue Deadpool during one of my toy hunts in Greenhills before it hit  local retail (full story here). Shortly days after that, this particular wave started popping out on toy stores and that signaled the start of the hunt for collectors ala Hunger Games! And I tell you, even though Deadpool is 2 per case, he's really hard to find on the shelves as he seems to be a hot item as always.

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2015 Wave 3.

2x Emma Frost, 2x Chameleon, 2x Colossus, 2x Deadpool, 2x Korg, 2x Northstar

I believe this costume, which I like to call the Bearako variant due to its color ways, was a short lived one. He wore this for a brief period when he joined the X-men to capture Cable, thus the blue and yellow with an X insignia. Haven't read the issue though.

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: Set of 6 Php 4,200
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:

Back of the packaging seems to suggest that Scarlet Spidey and Gold Ultron may have been planned to be with the same wave with Deadpool, however it seems that these guys are planned to be released via a 2-pack in the future.

Accessories:
left: SDCC Deadpool | righ: MIS Deadpool (blue)
The figure came with the same exact repainted accessories from the SDCC Taco Truck Deadpool Corps. It has a cannon, and a hand weapon that originally came with the AIM Soldiers. It also includes a half-masked extra head and a knife (not in picture) and his signature katanas.

Sculpt:

+ Uses the same exact body mold of the SDCC Taco Truck Deadpool.
+ Loving the details on the extra head.
+ Raised pinky is a nice touch on a Deadpool figure.
- Has a holster, but doesn't come with a gun that can fit in it.
- Could have added a knife sheath for his blade.

Paint:

+ Rich shade and tone of the blue and yellow.
+ Clean paint on the yellow line panels.
+ Clean X-men insignia on his strap.

        Articulation:
It uses the exact same body mold of the SDCC Deadpool so you probably know what to expect. It's an old buck, but you get the essential POA's you need for Deadpool. Though I'm still hoping to get him in a modern body hopefully in the future.

          Size Comparison:
SDCC Taco Truck Deadpool | MIS Deadpool (X-men/Blue)
MIS Cyclops | MIS Deadpool (X-men/Blue) | MU Astonishing Beast
Deadpools: XMO Deluxe | MU SDCC Taco Truck | MIS X-men Blue | MU Greatest Battles | MU X-force Team Pack

          Overall Grade
It's been a long while since we got another Deadpool figure in this scale. Looking at it, it's not really new since it's just a repaint, but it's Deadpool! Meaning nobody cares! People would still buy and hoard this guy! I have to admit, I did buy 2 of these, one I'd keep as MOC for my display. I never got a chance to own a Deadpool figure in MOC condition and at SRP price, and I do know a lot of collectors out there who share the same sentiments as me.

Out of all the figure in the wave, it's no surprise that this would be the hardest to find on the pegs of toy stores. This is the one that's been on everyone's priority may you be a collector, Deadpool fan, X-men fan, reseller or simply just one of those who loves to get into hypes.

Figure wise, you know what you're getting with this one since it's just a repaint. Not that it's bad, it actually does work. The color application really does make it stand out. Added accessories are a nice bonus as well. That head really makes me love it even more. I do suggest you get this one. Why? It's DEADPOOL!
