REVIEW: Marvel's Korg

Straight from Planet Ria, here's the Kronan warrior Korg!

One of the least favorite figure from this line maybe because of his unpopularity with casual collectors of the line. Without knowing who this guy is, you'd probably mistake him as The Thing in a different comic depiction.

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2015 Wave 3.

2x Emma Frost, 2x Chameleon, 2x Colossus, 2x Deadpool, 2x Korg, 2x Northstar

Korg was part of the nameless Kronan warriors who invaded earth in Thor's debut in Marvel comics. However, Korg was given a name during the Planet Hulk era where he forged a bond with the Hulk himself.

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: Set of 6 Php 4,200
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:

Accessories:
MU WW Hulk shield | MIS Korg shield
Korg comes with a repainted shield from MU's World War Hulk.

Sculpt:

+ Detailed body sculpt from Thing's body.
+ Nicely sculpted body armor.
+ Shield has great details as well.
- 2 CLOSED FISTS. An open hand could have made a difference so he can wield a weapon.

Paint:

+ Decent paint app overall on the figure.
+ Shaded parts on his body.
- Could have added some wash on his attire to bring out the sculpt details.

        Articulation:

It uses a retooled Thing body, so you basically get a decent articulated figure. It's the perfect choice for Korg, sans the closed fist.

          Size Comparison:
          MU Thing | MIS Korg
MU Rhino | MIS Korg | MU World War Hulk

          Overall Grade

Korg is probably my choice as the peg warmer for this wave since many are not that familiar with the character. I do see collectors picking this up on clearance only. A potential army build on this figure is also plausible since they can pass as Kronan warriors.

Overall, the figure itself is solidly built. The detail on the figure is great, however an inclusion of an open hand for wielding weapons and maybe a reissued sword from WW Hulk would have made this figure near perfect.
