REVIEW: Spider-Man Noir

A darker alternate version of Spider-man (no not the emo guy from Spider-man 3) here's Spider-man Noir!

To be honest, I'm not familiar with the character's backstory and haven't read up anything that involves Spider-man Noir. Though I do believe it came from the Marvel Noir universe. However, I am familiar with the character in terms of his costume and looks as I've always seen him from the posts of Spider-man fans and collectors. I really like this alternate look of Spidey, kinda refreshing to see him without the red and blue. It just makes him look bad-ass!

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2016 Mavel Legends Series Wave 1.

x1 Black Panther, x1 Capt. Marvel, x1 Yondu, x1 Spider-man, x1 Iron Man, x1 Spider-man Noir, x1 Triton, x1 Ulik

I'm so happy that Hasbro finally decided to put out an official figure of Spider-man Noir. Been seeing a lot of custom figures with the exact same body mold. Almost did one before, but good thing this one came out before I could start doing my planned custom.

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: Set of 5 Php 3, 500
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:
I definitely love the new packaging! The old one from the infinite series looks so generic and dull. Glad to have the individual character's art on each of the card back giving it more personality! Loving the artistic photo of the figure at the back as well.

Sculpt:

+ Perfect re-use of the WWII Capt. America body mold without the star insignia.
+ Great details on the headsculpt!
- They could have given him a removable black coat from previous figures such as Nick Fury, XMO Sabretooth and Blade.

Paint:

+ Clean paint application overall
+ The black and gray looks great!
+ Silver painted eyes!

Articulation:

It uses the SDCC WWII Capt. America body mold from Marvel Universe which means it has tons of articulation points which makes it fun posing this figure.

    Size Comparison:
MLS Spider-man Noir | CATFA WWII Capt. America
    SHS Spider-man | MLS Spider-man Noir | Custom MU Spider-man
Toxic Blast Venom | MLS Spider-man Noir | Stretch Strike Venom

    Playtime Pics:

Just give him a black coat and a Tommy rifle and he's perfect!

    Overall Grade
Spider-man Noir is a great character to add to one's collection. Though I know it's not really a must have, but the character design itself is just too good to pass on. The figure itself is well made in general, and that body mold is a pure winner in terms of sculpt and articulation. Not much gripe with this one, it's just that they could have added some bits and pieces to make this figure flat out perfect. The addition of a removable coat, and some guns, like the Tommy Guns from Bucky could have been  a perfect fit for this figure. But overall, it's a solid figure! Probably the 2nd chase after Capt. Marvel in this wave.
