TOY REVIEW: Thor - Jane Foster (Defenders of Asgard pack)

We finally got Jane Foster, Lady Thor or simply just Thor in this line!

I'm really happy with Hasbro's choice to create this version of Thor. I was able to follow the characters' story line, and up until present. At first I was skeptical of having a female Thor, but once I gave the series a chance and read it, I got hooked!

For those who aren't aware yet, Lady Thor is Jane Foster. I believe it was during the Original Sin where Thor lost his ability to wield the Mjolnir which was picked up by an unidentified woman, later to be revealed as Jane Foster. It's a great series to read as Jane Foster takes on the role of Thor.

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2016 Mavel Legends Series Wave 1 - Comic Packs.

Mechanical Masters, Defenders of Asgard, Shield-Wielding Heroes

Where did I acquire it?: Sir Eric's Distribution
How much?: SRP of 1,499.75
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:
Finally the comic packs are back! I can't remember the last time they put one of these out! It's still patterned after the single pack Marvel Legends Series. Though I don't dig the name, I'm certainly digging the package design. It looks premium and made for adults. At the back you can see the rest of the comic packs, with a large artistic shot. With the return of these comic packs, I do hope we get the team boxsets as well down the road.

Defenders of Asgard pack comes with the Thors # 1 comic with the inclusion of The Mighty Thor # 1.

Accessories:
Lady Thor comes with a repainted Mjolnir with inscription which fits her hand well.

Sculpt:

+ Great intricate sculpt on the helmet details.
+ Cape and robe are of separate pieces which makes her movement unhindered.
+ Sculpted details are on point from her comic book counterpart.

Paint:
+ Choice of color palette is great
+ Neatly painted eyes.
+ Gun metal silver looks nice on her armor.
+ Overall paint application is neat.

Articulation:

It's a great suprise to me that this figure still holds a lot of articulation in it, knowing that we've been cut back on most of the recent figures. The body is like the Valkyrie figure without the wrist swivel. But even without it, this one can pass as a Marvel Universe quality figure during the Vonner era.

Overall Grade

Again, I'm really glad with the character choice on this one. It's a great addition to Marvel's expanding roster. Figure wise, I say this is the one to get in the whole assortment. It's sculpted well, painted well and the articulation is close to perfection! I say, get this figure if you get the chance as it doesn't disappoint in any department.

  1. How is the rubber? That valkyrie is one of the best sculpts, but the rubber is so gummy that she warps under her own weight.
