TOY REVIEW: Marvel's Odinson (Defenders of Asgard pack)

Here we got Marvel's Odinson or back when he was still unworthy.

I believe this version came from the Thor: God of Thunder series back in 2012. It was one of the great series I wasn't able to follow up on. Basically, the series followed 3 Thors, the past, present and future. And here we have the past, young version of Thor when he was still unworthy of the Mjolnir.

Past, Present, Future Thor

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2016 Mavel Legends Series Wave 1 - Comic Packs.

Mechanical Masters, Defenders of Asgard, Shield-Wielding Heroes

Where did I acquire it?: Sir Eric's Distribution
How much?: SRP of 1,499.75
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:
Finally the comic packs are back! I can't remember the last time they put one of these out! It's still patterned after the single pack Marvel Legends Series. Though I don't dig the name, I'm certainly digging the package design. It looks premium and made for adults. At the back you can see the rest of the comic packs, with a large artistic shot. With the return of these comic packs, I do hope we get the team boxsets as well down the road.

Defenders of Asgard pack comes with the Thors # 1 comic with the inclusion of The Mighty Thor # 1.

Accessories:

Odinson comes with Jarnbjorn, a battle axe he wielded long before the Mjolnir. It's sculpted well and on point with it's comic counterpart

Sculpt:

+  Pretty well sculpted details (straps, leg wraps, fur on his cape etc.)
+ Cape and robe are also of separate pieces which makes movement unhindered.
+/- The smug look on his face. Now with this I'm not sure if it helps the figure or not. It looks annoying but it pretty much captures his attitude of being young, arrogant and carefree on the said series.
- Hair sculpt is made off a harder plastic which hinders the head movement.
- Non-sculpted wristbands.

Paint:

+ Clean paint application overall.
+ Dry brush on his leg wraps
+ Neatly painted face
- Painted fur is terrible.
- Different flesh tone used for the head/neck and arms.

Articulation:

It uses the standard cut-back articulated body that we get from the recent figures Hasbro has been putting out. No torso, wrist or waist articulation but we do get an ankle rocker. The head is on a ball joint, but you couldn't make the figure look up or down cause of the sculpt.

Overall Grade

This version of Thor isn't really essential on being turned into an action figure. I would have opted for the metal armed Thor instead of this one. I must say, this figure is for the Thor fans or completist and probably not for the casual collectors. It may not be a bad addition if you have "Thor Corps" going on in your collection, but this is one figure you may pass up on in my opinion.
