TOY REVIEW: Gamora

Finally we get to complete our Guardians of the Galaxy team with Gamora!

Ever since the GotG movie came out, fans we're clamoring for a Gamora figure to complete the team. Hasbro already reissued the rest of the Guardians allotting a complete wave just for them but still no signs of her. Eventually, Gamora and Capt. Marvel (Carol Danvers) won the fan's choice award, and now we finally got them both.

This version of Gamora is based on her modern Marvel Now look. Though I would have opted for the classic blue and red outfit just to match the boxset if I had a choice. But this look isn't too bad as well.

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2016 Mavel Legends Series Wave 2

Each case consists of:
x1 Gamora, Armored Spider-man, Living Laser, Daredevil, Rage, Ant-man (reissue), x2 Vision

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: SRP of Php 750 each / Preorder Php 4850 (set of 7)
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:

Accessories:
Gamora comes with a newly sculpted sword, and a gun similar to Cable and Kang.
Too bad there's no sheath/ holster or a way to keep her weapons.

Sculpt:

+ Headsculpt looks perfect!
+ Unique body mold
+ Intricate sculpt details on her armor.

Paint:
+ Perfect face paint app.
+ Nice red tone. Matches the rest of the Guardians' red as well
+ Neat paint app overall.
- Could have added a wash on the white, to make the panel lines visible.

Articulation:
This new body mold also has the similar articulation of the recent buck
that Hasbro has been using for the 4 inch scale.

Size Comparison:
Gamora with the rest of MU's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Fan's choice winners: MLS Capt. Marvel | MLS Gamora

Overall Grade

To my surprise, the figure does fit well with the rest of the Guardians even though she has a different outfit on. It's probably the "red" that made her fit well with the group. It's great that we finally get this figure to complete a team in our collection.

This figure is definitely a must buy! Gamora has become one of the mainstream heroes, ever since the movie came out. The figure itself is well made! The head is spot on, and the body is uniquely sculpted! A bit more paint could have made this figure perfect in my book but that's just me nitpicking. I say grab this figure, it's totally worth it!

  1. Fantastic photography on these! Seriously-- that Gamora really looks far better than I would have thought.

Stupid question-- but what type of flying stand are you using in these photos?

    1. Hi Fred, the flight stand I used is a bootleg of the Tamashii Stage Act 4 for Humanoid
