TOY REVIEW: Marvel's Maestro

Another welcome addition to the expanded roster of this scale, Maestro!

First Impression:

Haven't really read up anything on him yet, but I'm familiar seeing him with his "trophies" of fallen heroes and villains attached to his body. Been seeing a lot of custom of him since then, with his classic topless look. With the announcement of this figure, I can say I'm more than okay with it since it has been awhile since we got a chunky figure. He's sporting a modern look I believe based on the Contest of Champions.

Here's the rest of the assortment for 2017 Mavel Legends Series Wave 1

Where did I acquire it?: Kramer Toy Warden
How much?: SRP of Php 750 each
Condition during acquisition: MOC

Packaging:

Accessories:

Sculpt:

+ On point headsculpt!
+ Great reuse of parts for the hand and lower legs from Apocalypse
+ New and accurately sculpted armor.

Paint:
+ Decent and clean paint application overall
- Paint looks a bit flat. Could have had some dry brushed silver specially on the 'metal' parts.

Articulation:
It uses the same body mold of the chunkier MU figs so it's fully articulated from head to toe. However the body armor kinda hinders the torso movement.

Comparison:
MLS Maestro, MU Apocalypse

MLS Maestro, MU Hulk

MLS Maestro, MIS Hulk

Overall Grade

I'm glad to have him as one of the included characters in this wave. The figure is solid overall, and who doesn't like these big figs? You get more bang for your buck! Wish Hasbro could have included some Cap's shield, Iron Man's helmet or just some stuff to stand in as his trophy. But that's just a minor gripe. Great figure overall and definitely recommendable!

Accessories - n/a
Sculpt - 4/5
Paint - 3.5/5
Articulation - 4.5/5
Value - 4/5
Final Grade - 4/5

  1. I have the old toybiz version and actually works great with 4" figs. the accessories are also great minus the shield and hammer since they are way too big. I don't have this figure but the belt with the helmets would probably fit on him too.
